In the very early years whilst at University I funded my course by working within numerous positions - selling programs at Kettering Football Club, and bringing luck to Kettering by working on the lottery counter in the local supermarket, working in a petrol station and pursuing an apprenticeship in the Photographic department of the Evening Telegraph! (My plan to be the next Anne Leibovitz did not work out!). My first full-time position and a taste of the sales industry - Selling Classical Sheet Music at Oxford University Press.
Rachel started her professional career in recruitment at an IT consultancy based in Milton Keynes. A few years later Rachel was Headhunted for the role of Resource Manager at media giant Bertelsmann AG in London, recruiting IT personnel for UK and Ireland Bertelsmann owned companies (Freemantle Media, BMG Records, Sonopress and Random House). In 2001, after gaining both resource management and recruitment experience, Rachel returned to Northamptonshire to set up a recruitment business that would use this knowledge and offer more......Friendly People recruitment Ltd was born!
Rachel was voted one of Recruiter Magazines “top 20 Billers in the UK” in 2005 and in 2010 opened the doors to the new generation of recruitment high street branches in the lovely market town of Rothwell, Northamptonshire – The Recruitment Bar!
